TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Route 4, also known as Goshen Road, in Torrington reopened at around 9 a.m. Monday morning, after police closed it for a deadly crash.

The crash happened between Weed and Pothier Roads early Monday morning.

Police said the crash only involved one vehicle, which veered off the south side of the road and struck a telephone pole, continued to strike a stone wall and finally struck a tree.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Michael Chase, of McGuinness Street in Torrington.

The cause remains under investigation.
