On Monday, the city of New Haven announced the dates for the upcoming fall edition of New Haven Restaurant Week.
Officials said the week will kick off on Nov. 1 and run through Nov. 6, and will benefit the Connecticut Food Bank and is presented by First Niagara Bank. New this year, First Niagara Bank will be donating $2,500 to the food bank.
During the week, diners will be asked to add $1 or more to their bill for the food bank as well.
"For every dollar that folks donate, we can support families in our community with two meals a day," said James Augur of Connecticut Food Bank.
The bank said it will match up to another $2,500.
"You can eat yourself around the world in New Haven and have some of the best food in the world right here," said New Haven Mayor Toni Harp.
There are 27 New Haven restaurants that will be participating in the week-long event, including Elm City Social Kitchen, where Executive Chef John Brennan said he can't wait for restaurant week.
"I think as a chef and a business owner, this is some of the most exciting times of the year," Brennan said. "We make everything from scratch, fresh local ingredients. I think that's what people want these days."
Diners can get a three-course lunch at participating restaurants for $18, and a three-course dinner for $32.
