PORTLAND, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Portland said they're investigating an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant.

They said a suspect walked into the Burger King on Marlborough Street just before 11:50 p.m. on Monday and showed a handgun to employees.

The suspect took an unknown amount of money and fled out of the rear door on foot, police said.

A state police canine unit responded, but was unable to pick up the scent.

The suspect was described as a man in his 30s or 40s who was wearing an all black hoodie, dark jeans, black shoes, black gloves and a black ski mask. He was also carrying a black backpack and spoke with a Jamaican accent.

No one was hurt.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call the Portland Police Department at 860-342-6780.
