A crash involving a dump truck and coach bus caused some delays on I-95 south in Norwalk on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened in the area of exit 14, a little before 3:30 p.m.

Police said a coach bus hit the back of a tractor trailer, and the driver of the bus was extricated and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The bus had 41 passengers who were traveling from Boston to New York City.

Officials said 18 of those passengers were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The highway was down to one lane at one point, with sporadic closures for emergency vehicles.
