Bridgeport police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman accused in an attempted abduction of a 17-year-old girl.
Police said on Monday, at about 7:15 a.m., officers responded to the corner of Boston Avenue and Palisade Avenue, for the report of an attempted abduction.
The teen was walking to school when she was approached by a charcoal gray Toyota Yaris, which was missing a rear bumper, leaving white Styrofoam exposed.
The female driver reportedly lured the teen into the car, police said, and once the victim was in the car police said the driver assaulted the victim.
The teen bailed out of the car while it was traveling west on Boston Avenue.
Police said the Toyota made a U-turn at Dover Street and traveled east on Boston Avenue continuing into Stratford.
The teen was uninjured.
The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic female approximately in her 40s, who has black hair in a ponytail, freckles on her face, and was wearing a black leather jacket at the time.
Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Bridgeport police at (203) 581-5293.
