A Canton woman celebrated her 108th birthday on Thursday.
Well in her heyday, Juliette Hammond said she used to go barn storming in planes and road Harley Davidsons with her husband.
Now this 108 year old is living a quieter life and she said her goal is to just make people happy.
Surrounded by an Elvis impersonator and her family and friends at Cherry Brook Healthcare in Canton, Hammond celebrated her milestone birthday.
"It doesn't mean a thing. Just one day at a time,” Hammond said.
Hammond was born in Putnam in 1907 and was married at 24 years old. She eventually became a mother and then grandmother. Hammond said so much has changed over the last century and then some.
"In some ways I find the schools have changed a lot. They don't teach the way I used to teach...they have computers and all this stuff,” Hammond said. “We did it with a pencil and paper."
As far as keys to her longevity, Hammond credited a nightly glass of white zinfandel and offered some advice to those younger than her.
"Just be yourself and do what you think is right,” Hammond said. “Judge people by what you think is right...not what other people think they're right."
Three years ago, WFSB meteorologist Scot Haney attended her 105th birthday. While Hammond enjoys thinking about her past, she said she still has her eye on the future, 108 years young.
"I think I'll be back next year...I'll be 109...oh brother,” Hammond said.
Eyewitness News also asked Hammond if she had any advice for a mom-to-be and she said "have patience...and do the best you can."
