BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -

Bridgeport police have arrested a New Haven woman in connection to the attempted abduction of a teenager last week.

Police said 38-year-old Towanna Randall offered the teen walking along Boston Avenue a ride to school on the morning of October 5.

Once the 17-year-old victim had entered the car the driver begun to assault her, forcing the teen to bail from the moving vehicle.

Police released video of the incident showing the teen jumping from a charcoal gray Toyota Corolla that was missing its rear bumper.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and its owner in  New Haven within days of the incident and arrested Randall on Saturday.

Police said Randall and the victim do not know each other.

Randall is facing several charges including third-degree sex assault, unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment.

Bridgeport Assistant Police Chief James Nardozzi said police were able to make a quick arrest in the case thanks to the numerous tips and around-the-clock efforts of officers.

Randall is being held on a $100,000 bond and is due in court on Tuesday, October 13.
