Teen arrested for liquor store burglary

A juvenile was arrested for burglarizing a liquor store in Norwich overnight.

Police said it happened at Kenny P's II Liquor Store on Hamilton Avenue around midnight on Monday.

When officers arrived, they said they found that someone had broken into the building.

A K9 unit tracked a scent to the nearby woods and flushed out the 17-year-old suspect.

The juvenile was arrested and the liquor stolen was recovered along with an object used to break into the store.

The teen was charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal mischief and possession of alcohol by a minor.

The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents and issued a summons to juvenile court.
