HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police have identified the individuals involved in an apparent murder-suicide in Hartford on Monday.

The bodies of 48-year-old Ramon Villa, and 38-year-old Reyna Villa were found inside their third-floor apartment on Broad Street in Hartford on Monday afternoon.

Both individuals were found with gunshot wounds to their heads, and a shotgun was located inside of the apartment.

While police were waiting for the medical examiner to confirm the cause of death, police said it appears to be a domestic situation and presents itself as a murder-suicide.

Neighbors in the area said the couple owns the Salcedo Grocery store on Broad Street, and that they have two children who were not home at the time of the shooting.
