A massage therapist in Southington was arrested for sexually assaulting one of his patients.

Police said 48-year-old David Kingsbury was taken into custody Oct. 9 on an active arrest warrant.

According to the warrant, Kingsbury was working as a therapist at the Healing Hands and Body Works Therapeutic Massage on Queen Street.

In August, he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, whom police said was a patron of the business.

"I always had trust in where I went and would never expect someone to take advantage of me in any inappropriate way," said Carmel Durso.

The business did not respond to requests for comments made by Eyewitness News.

Kingsbury was charged with second-degree sexual assault and second-degree breach of peace.

He posted a $25,000 bond and was scheduled to face a judge on Oct. 19. Court documents have been sealed.
