Reckless driving leads to weapon, drugs arrests

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Three people were arrested on Wednesday after a police pursuit in Hartford.

Police said Anthony Beckman Jr., 22, Brianna Beckman, 30, and 23-year-old Shaquille Brown were arrested on various charges.

They said members of their shooting task force tried to stop the suspects' vehicle on Westland Street after they were seen recklessly driving.

Police said the vehicle attempted to elude detectives before it pulled into a driveway on Clark Street.

They were able to detain the Beckmans and Brown.

Inside, police said they found a loaded Cobra FS .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol with an obliterated serial number.

The driver, Anthony Beckman, whom police called a convicted felon, was also found to have 6 grams of crack cocaine and 1.5 grams of marijuana.

He was charged with failure to signal, stop sign violation, operating under suspension, criminal possession of a firearm, having a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, obliterated serial number, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school and possession of a controlled substance.

Brianna Beckman was charged with weapons in a motor vehicle.

Brown was also charged with weapons in a motor vehicle. Police said he had an active federal probation arrest warrant. Police said a federal probation officer was notified.
