Robber hits bank in Waterbury

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

A bank robber struck a bank in Waterbury Thursday morning.

Police said it happened at a Webster Bank on the corner of Highland and Sunnyside avenues.

Police described the suspect as wearing dark jeans, a dark hoodie, a New York Yankees cap and mirrored glasses.

They said he presented a note to the teller which indicated that he had a weapon. However, no weapon was actually shown.

Police said he fled towards Chase Park on Highland Avenue.

No one was hurt.

State police K9 units were brought in to help search for the suspect at nearby Chase Park.
