Bruce's latest update on Wednesday's heavy rain, gusty wind

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

I have several concerns when it comes to the storm tomorrow and tomorrow night.

First of all, wind gusts to 40+ mph could cause scattered power outages.

A few gusty thunderstorms are also possible Wednesday night. The combination of heavy downpours and strong winds will knock plenty of leaves off the trees.

Clogged storm drains could cause water to back up on roads and drivers will need to be careful. Wet leaves are slippery too! Minor coastal flooding is also possible due to astronomically high tides and a strong south to southeasterly wind.

At least the rain will do some good.

The rainfall deficit for the month of October is an incredible 3.36" at Windsor Locks. Rainfall totals should range from 1-3" from this storm.
