South Windsor residents being warned about mail scam

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

Police in South Windsor are warning residents to be on alert of a mail scam.

A woman received a suspicious post card in her mailbox that said there was a package that needed to be delivered.

The post card gave a phone number for the person to call and give credit card information.

“It's clear that the information is fraudulent. It's a scam, we looked into the veracity of the post card. It simply isn't true. We believe at this point it is a scam that seems to be well established across the country,” said South Windsor Sgt. Kristian Lindstrom.

Police said if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
