Bicyclist struck in Bristol Tuesday night

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle in Bristol late Tuesday night, according to police.

The bicyclist, identified as 28-year-old Justin Bonhomme of Bristol, was struck near the intersection of Woodland and King Streets.

The rider had been heading south on King Street and passed through the intersection with Woodland Street when a 2013 Toyota Tacoma attempted a left turn.

That's when the truck, driven by 63-year-old Rebecca Higgins of Bristol, allegedly struck Bonhomme.

Bonhomme was transported to a Hartford area hospital in stable condition. Police said he suffered hip and leg injuries.

Higgins was not hurt.

Police did not comment on whether any charges would be filed.
