A motor vehicle stop-turned-pursuit in Wallingford last July led to an arrest earlier this week.
Police in Wallingford said they stopped a vehicle driven by Andre Green on July 11 for misuse of registration plates.
The stop was made in the Stop & Shop parking lot on North Colony Road.
However, Green stepped out of the vehicle and started to approach the officer. Police said the officer ordered Green to return to his vehicle. He complied, but drove away.
The officer said he pursued Green for a short distance down North Colony Road, but cut it short due to public safety concerns. Police said Green was disobeying traffic signals and nearly hit oncoming traffic on a connecting road.
That same day, police in West Haven said they also engaged in a pursuit with Green. That was also ended due to public safety concerns.
Green, who is from Meriden, was eventually identified as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued, but the suspect could not be found.
Wallingford police were called to the Adult Probation Office in Meriden on Oct. 25 where they took Green into custody.
He was charged with misuse of a marker plate, failure to obey control device, operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, engaging in a pursuit and reckless driving.
He was released on a promise to appear and given a court date of Nov. 9.
