Officials from the New Haven Mayor's Office said an outage is impacting 911 service in the Elm City.
According to a staff member from Mayor Toni Harp's team, the outage occurred Saturday morning and is impacting residents who dial 911.
Calls from residents in New Haven are being rerouted to Hamden or West Haven, which does add an extra step to the process. However, officials said residents can still use 911 in an emergency and responders from New Haven will get to them.
Callers may also reach the police using their routine line at 203-946-6316.
A reverse emergency call was made to residents in the city informing them of the outage.
There is no word how long repairs are expected to take.
