Students and parents in New Britain said personal items are being stolen right from the lockers at the high school.
Things like sneakers, clothing and even cell phones have been stolen, and even though there are security cameras, parents want to know what the point is if nothing is being enforced.
Damaris Olivo has a son at New Britain High School who is a freshman and said his phone, book bag, school supplies and clothes were stolen from school.
“My son had a lock and he wasn't the only kid, there were other kids,” Olivo said.
Students said the thefts mainly happen in locker rooms.
“They kicked the locks off the locker and stole everything...but there's nothing the teachers can do, once you lose it, you lose it,” said New Britain High School senior Sam Harris.
But that isn’t good enough for parents. Olivo said she’s frustrated after not getting answers from the school.
“They have cameras outside the locker rooms so they're able to see who walks out and who walks in,” Olivo said.
In a statement, school officials said "When incidents such as this are reported, our security camera monitor reviews footage of the outside areas (hallways, entrance/exit ways, etc.) to determine if any suspects are identifiable. In this case, we could not identify any suspects on camera."
Anyone who has something stolen should file a police report.
Police said there were five incidents reported last year. This year police said none have been reported.
