Friday is National Nachos Day, according to the website NationalDayCalendar.com.
The snack involving tortilla chips covered in melted cheese and other toppings is recognized every Nov. 6.
It's believed to have first been created in the 1940s and are of Mexican origin.
The food came from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, which is just across the border from Eagle Pass, TX.
Some popular toppings include refried beans, ground beef, chicken, seafood, shredded cheese, salsa and guacamole.
