NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

The New Haven Police Department is searching for a serial bank robber, who investigators believe is responsible for bank robbery on Saturday morning.

Police said Juan Cruz, who is homeless, robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Church Street around 9:44 a.m.

Cruz was recently released from jail after a seven-year prison sentence for robbing a bank.

During the robbery on Saturday, police said Cruz went to a teller’s window and demanded money. Cruz fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Police said he is also a suspect in a robbery at the Santander bank, located at 215 Grand Avenue, on Oct. 15.
