Crews completed repairs to a water main that broke in West Hartford.
The Metropolitan District Commission said the 8 inch main broke on South Highland Street Monday morning.
It shut down the water in the area after 6:30 a.m. so repairs could be made.
"Shutdown of the water main was complete at 8:45 a.m.," said Kerry Martin of the MDC. "Nine properties on South Highland Street from Farmington Avenue to Fennway [were] affected by the shutdown. These include[d] several multifamily residences, a church daycare and the Hartford Family Institute.
The MDC said repairs were expected to take between four and six hours. However, service was restored as of 11:30 a.m.
The MDC said the main was installed in 1927.
