Two men were charged with murder in the deadly shooting of a Hartford man in the city’s north end over the summer.
Everet Scott was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in a motor vehicle at 6 Kenyon Court on July 26, police said. Scott was taken to Saint Francis Hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.
During their investigation, the Hartford Police Major Crimes Unit determined that 21-year-old Keith Hurst and 27-year-old Phillips Williams were suspects in the case.
Investigators said the murder was drug related.
Williams was in police custody on an unrelated charge.
Hurst was located on Monday at an apartment on Folly Brook Boulevard in Wethersfield. Police said Hurst attempted “to flee out the back door,” but was apprehended by police without incident.
Hurst and Williams were both charged with felony murder, first-degree robbery, conspiracy robbery, conspiracy felony murder, criminal possession firearm and criminal use of firearm.
Hurst, who is a convicted felon and has 12 previous arrests in Hartford, is being held on $1 million bond. Williams, who is a convicted felon and has 10 previous arrests in Hartford, is being held on $2.5 million bond.
