HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A repairman accused of sexually assaulting two elderly women with dementia is scheduled to make a court appearance on Tuesday.

Police said 67-year-old David Togninalli, a former maintenance director at the Arden Courts assisted care facility in Farmington, sexually assaulted patients who were 92 and 77 years of age.

"The arrest warrant covers two victims, two different incidents,” said Lt. Colin Ryan, Farmington police.

Arden Courts is a place where those with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia are helped. Caretakers told police that they saw Togninalli leave the rooms of the women.

“The man who just left her room had touched her breasts," police said of the 92-year-old victim.

Togninalli told officers that "he would hold hands with residents and kiss them on the cheeks over the years."

Police said he eventually admitted to inappropriately touching the 77-year-old victim.

Because they have dementia, state law says that neither can give consent for sexual acts.

Police said they are looking into the possibility of other victims.

Togninalli is scheduled to face a judge at Hartford Superior Court.
