WATERTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

A Watertown woman, who owns a property management company, was arrested after a lengthy embezzlement investigation.

Watertown Police arrested Joanne Fournier after she allegedly forged contractor’s signatures on checks and deposited them into her own account.

Fournier is the owner of Custom Property Management and was the property manager of a Winsted condominium property where the fraudulent checks were reportedly written to contractors between 2011 and 2014.

Members of the condo association found discrepancies in checks that were issued to contractors during that period of time.

There were over 40 fraudulent checks that totaled over $50,000.

Fournier is facing larceny and identity theft charges, and 44 counts of third-degree forgery.

She is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior court on Nov. 24.
