WOODBURY, CT (WFSB) -

A power outage has caused officials at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury to dismiss students early on Friday.

Nonnewaug High School students were dismissed at 1 p.m. because there is no power in the building.

All other Woodbury schools will remain on regular schedule.

The Superintendent for Region 14 Schools Dr. Anna Cutaia-Leonard said all the students are safe.

According to Cutaia-Leonard , there is a transformer down in Woodbury. The Eversource website is reporting that more than 600 customers are without power. To check outages, click here.

The transformer down led to limited communication and partial power. A short time later, there was no power in the building.
