Three New Britain police officers were injured after responding to a domestic disturbance on Friday evening.
Officers responded to a home on Chestnut Street just before 7 p.m. after a report from family members saying an 18-year-old girl had a knife.
When officers were at the home, the teen, identified as Marisol Ortiz, had suddenly leapt up and was yelling loudly.
While police tried to control her, she pulled out a knife from under her shirt and lunged at one officer, reportedly stabbing him in the leg.
Another officer was cut on his hand, and a third was bitten on his hand.
All of the officers were treated at a nearby hospital and released.
The officer who was stabbed in the leg was unable to continue his shift, but is expected to fully recover.
Ortiz was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
She was held on a $500,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
