HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Whether it’s ‘New England’s Rising Star’ or ‘Hartford Has It,’ a slogan can only do so much for a city.

It is really about the people, and they’re the ones being showcased in a new commercial coming soon.

The commercial is a full-scale attack on any naysayers, launched by the owners of Hartford Prints on Pratt Street, where they love Hartford, a lot.

"Whenever somebody says anything bad about Hartford, I tell them all the good things and it's usually things they don't know about and that's what we're trying to do with this commercial is show people, look at all the amazing things that are going on in Hartford and why don't you give it a chance,” said Rory Gale of Hartford Prints.

She is working with her two sisters to keep Hartford moving in the right direction.

They also just commissioned a giant mural that is hard not to notice on Main Street, meant to highlight “small state, big heart.”

"I was born here and I love Hartford, personally, I love it,” said Pablo Vasquez, who lives in Hartford.

"Amazing city, I'm proud to be here. I came from Europe a year-and-a-half ago, people are really nice, educated. The culture is really nice,” said Marsel Maxhari, manager of Peppercorn’s Grill.

The commercial will soon air on television and, Gale said she hopes it starts changing some hearts and minds.

"A lot of times you can hear somebody say, ‘I don't go to Hartford’ and that's the problem because if you came, you would see how beautiful it is, how rich the culture is, how amazing the people are and just this really vibrant community,” Gale added.
