Bridgeport Mayor-elect Joseph Ganim will be naming members of his transition team as he prepares to reclaim the seat he lost more than a decade ago in a corruption scandal.
Ganim has scheduled a news conference for Monday afternoon to announce the members of his transition task force, which will help him prepare for taking office on Dec. 1.
Ganim stunned incumbent Mayor Bill Finch in the Democratic primary in August and went on to win the general election earlier this month.
He previously was mayor from 1991 to 2003, when he was convicted of 16 corruption charges. He served seven years in prison for steering city contracts in exchange for thousands of dollars in expensive wine, custom clothes, cash and home improvements.
