WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A state trooper is accused of harassing a woman in West Hartford, according to investigators.

West Hartford police said William Bevans had been texting and calling the victim repeatedly prior to his arrest on Monday.

The victim was Bevans ex-girlfriend.

Investigators said he threatened to send a lewd photo of her performing a sex act to her friends and family if she failed to call or text him back. Bevans allegedly took the photo in the first place.

Police said they developed probable cause and arrested Bevans.

He was charged with one count of second-degree harassment and issued a $5,000 bond.

Police said he was released on that bond and given a court date of Tuesday.

He was ordered to avoid all contact with the victim, not possess a dangerous weapon and not to possess an intoxicant or controlled substance.
