Hamden police said they are investigating two suspicious deaths at an apartment complex on Mix Avenue.
At a little after 4 p.m., police said they were at the scene at the Broadmoor Apartments after two male bodies were found inside a vehicle outside of the complex.
On Tuesday night, police called the incident a double homicide.
"An individual was in the parking lot...sometime early this afternoon and noticed the car and noticed the person in it," said Hamden Police Chief Thomas Wydra.
Family members of the victims cried out in agony on Tuesday night, while investigators tried to figure out who apparently murdered two men inside of the car.
Police said the two victims had been shot.
Neighbors said they actually heard gun shots on Monday night at around 9:30 p.m., but police said they wish someone had called 911 sooner.
"If you hear something, if you see something, please call us please say something. We might have been able to commence this investigation much earlier than this afternoon," Wydra said.
Investigators are trying to figure out who is responsible for the deaths.
"We'll bear all the resources we need to to bring the people or the person who is responsible to justice for this," Wydra said.
No further information was released.
The apartment complex is just around the corner from Hamden High School.
