WINDHAM, CT (WFSB) -

Police have made an arrest after a teenager was shot in the head in Windham last week.

Police arrested 17-year-old Jeremy Mcgeowan, of Windham, was arrested during a traffic stop in New London on Tuesday.

The shooting happened at a home on Windham Center Road at about 10:15 p.m. last week.

The teen shot was identified as Wesley Rodriguez of Willimantic, and he was found in an upstairs bedroom. He was taken to the hospital with a wound to the head and was reported to be in critical condition.

Mcgeowan is facing assault charges, along with stealing a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.

He was held on a $500,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
