NIANTIC, CT (WFSB) -

The body of a missing mother from Stonington was found at Rocky Neck State Park in Niantic on Wednesday, according to Stonington police.

The body of 48-year-old Christine McGugan was found a day after her SUV was found across the street at the Bride Brook Health and Rehabilitation Center on Liberty Way.

State police said the discovery was made around 7:45 a.m. by a K9 team.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will be determining the cause of death.

State police issued a Silver Alert for McGugan on Nov. 13. It's since been canceled.

They said she has been missing since Nov. 12 and was last seen leaving Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London around noon time.

McGugan, of Stonington, was described as a woman with red hair and brown eyes. She's 5'4" tall and weighs 110 pounds. She was wearing a gray sweater and black tights.

Troopers said she was driving a green 2003 Chevy Tahoe with license plate registration 719SBV.

Troopers said McGugan is a mother of three children ages 11, 16 and 18.
