Two people in Bridgeport were arrested for stealing a U-Haul van.
Police said Vito Badalamenti, 45, of Bridgeport and Randolph Pasnick, 37, of Ansonia, were found to be inside the van, which was parked near the corner of Texas Avenue and East Main Street Monday.
The van, which was registered in Arizona, was reported stolen earlier in the day.
When police approached the vehicle, they found Badalamenti to be the driver and Pasnick and an unnamed female to be the passengers.
Badalamenti allegedly confessed that he had taken the van from a woman and man who were returning it to a U-Haul facility on East Main Street.
He and Pasnick were arrested.
Badalamenti was charged with first-degree larceny and had his bond set at $5,000.
While being booked at the police station, officers said they found Pasnick to be in possession of narcotics and a possible crack pipe.
He was charged with first-degree larceny, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,000.
