Two men were arrested for robbing a supermarket in East Hartford, according to police.
They said Jonathan Guzman, 28, of Hartford and Jesus Feliciano-Flores, 34, also of Hartford, robbed an Aldi Supermarket Thursday.
Police said one of the suspects threatened store staff with a black firearm.
The suspect then took money from several cash registers and fled in a light blue Acura onto Silver Lane.
Police said they were able to stop the car on Interstate 84 near Roberts Street.
Feliciano-Flores was identified as the driver. He allegedly admitted to police that he had just come from the area of Silver Lane.
His passenger was Guzman.
Feliciano-Flores also said that Guzman went into the supermarket.
Both were spotted on the store’s surveillance cameras.
After receiving a search warrant, police said they found a plastic bag filled with cash and a fake semi-automatic gun. The items were found in a hidden compartment inside the vehicle.
Guzman was charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. His bond was set at $250,000.
Feliciano-Flores was charged with second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery. His bond was $50,000.
