Emergency crews responded to Lake Waramaug in Kent on Sunday morning for the report of a person missing in the water.
A dive team responded, and crews brought boats to put in the water for the search.
Officials said two people went overboard from a boat, and firefighters said one person was found, however another person was still missing.
At about 5 p.m., officials said they had recovered the body of a 50-year-old man from Stamford.
The man's identity has not yet been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
The rescue happened on the Kent side of the lake, which is located in three towns.
