WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) -

A 51-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed on Thanksgiving morning in Willimantic, police said.

Officers were called to what appears to be a domestic violence-related incident at 45 Summit St. around 9:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers located a man, whose name was not released, with a stab wound.

The man was taken to the Windham Hospital Emergency Room and then transported by LIFE STAR medical helicopter to Hartford Hospital, police said. 

Police said the victim had surgery and his injuries are “considered non-life threatening.”

The stabbing remains under investigation and the Willimantic Police K-9 assisted in gathering evidence.

Police are not commenting on the relationship between the victim and the suspect. 

No arrests have been made, but police are looking for the suspect, who is known to investigators. There is no danger to the public, police said.
