The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene to assist in the investigation and determine the cause and manner of death.
The Eastern District Major Crime detectives and state police K9 teams continued the investigation on Sunday morning. Police said they were searching about a 1 mile area, for possibly more remains and other clues to help with the investigation.
Troopers received a tip from a nearby resident named Randy Griswold, who was out hunting on Saturday when he found the remains.
"We ride horse trails every weekend within half a mile of where that body was and we never knew it was there," Griswold said, adding that the thick brush surrounding the remains were easy to miss.
"It looked almost like a beach ball," he said.
The identification has not been released.
Police said there is no threat to the community.
