A Connecticut state trooper is caring for two young deer after their mother was killed.
On Monday, Connecticut State Police posted photos of the deer on social media, saying Trooper Ben Pagoni from Troop A in Southbury responded to an incident where the mother deer had died.
“Unfortunately two baby deer were left without a mother and there were no rescues available for them,” police said in a Facebook post.
The trooper got permission to take custody of the deer and has been caring for them at his home with the help of his family.
He will care for the deer until a rescue becomes available.
