PD: CT man threatens to 'shoot up' DMV

Roxbury, CT (WFSB) -

A Roxbury man is accused of posting on Facebook that he wanted to “shoot up” the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Police said Alexander J. Villarreal, 23, posted the threatening message early Wednesday morning. After police confirmed the post, Villarreal was arrested around 6 a.m.   

Police said Villarreal voluntarily surrendered his weapons during his arrest.

Villarreal was charged with first-degree harassment, first-degree threatening and breach of peace.   

Villarreal was arraigned at Bantam Superior Court on Wednesday.  His next court case is Jan. 6 and he has not entered a plea.

He was released from police custody after posting his $10,000 bond.
