Bristol water officials were called to the second water main break in less than 24 hours.
Crews are currently shut off water after a main break on Crown Street around 1 a.m.
Residents on Melrose Street and Judson Avenue could be affected by the break.
“We are working to limit the area affected and hope to maintain the outage to a small area,” Bristol Water Department posted on its Facebook page.
At a little before 7:30 p.m., crews were called to the area of 190 East Rd. to begin closing valves to stop the leak.
Officials said until the valves are closed, homeowners may experience low pressure or no water.
As of about 9 p.m., crews had located the break on East Road and were in the process of fixing and restoring water to residents.
Officials said an area on East Road, from Greystone Avenue to Hull Street are expected to be without water until late Thursday evening.
On its Facebook page, Bristol Water Department officials said anyone who sees discolored water should run the water from an outside faucet or bathtub until it clears.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during these emergencies,” Bristol Water Department posted on its Facebook page.
