Police seized 20 bags of heroin during a traffic stop in Putnam on Thursday evening.
Members of the Connecticut State Police Quality of Life Task Force and the Traffic Services Unit stopped a motor vehicle on Route 44 around 8:30 p.m.
During the search of the vehicle, police located two bundles of heroin.
Police charged 29-year-old Leland Lambert, of Putnam, with Possession of Heroin and first-degree failure to appear.
Lambert is being held on a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear at Danielson Superior Court on Friday.
