MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A man allegedly asked young girls to get in his car near a park in Milford.

Police said the incident happened on Dec. 2 near Edgemont Park between 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

The girls said a four-door baby blue sedan approached several young women. The man told the girls that he had money and asked them to get in his car.

"Its a scary world out there. It really is, especially if you're young or a kid. Its just not good. Seems you can't even go outside anymore," said Pete Grossi of Milford.

"There are still a few young girls around this neighborhood so its a little scary. Hate to see something like that happen but we will keep a look out," said Sandra Valentine of Milford.

She and Thomas Valentine live in the area where the alleged incident happened and they said it hits close to home.

"My daughter, when she was a teenager came through the park, that was the school back there and somebody attacked her," said Thomas Valentine.

The suspect was described as being 20 to 30 years old, having brown hair and brown eyes and wearing a polo shirt. He was also clean shaven.

This incident is the third in Milford in just the last month.

In mid-November, police said in separate incidents two girls were jogging in different parts of town when a man came up and allegedly touched them.

"I'll report anything that I see. I've already done it before. See a suspicious car parked over there, I would just call. We don't need any of this in this neighborhood," Thomas Valentine said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Milford Police Department at 203-878-6551 or Detective William Haas at 203-783-4771 or 203-877-1465.
