NEWTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

The nominees for the 58th annual Grammy Awards are in.

Some of the biggest names in music are once again in heated contention for the coveted golden gramophone.

Kendrick Lamar leads with 11 nominations, while Taylor Swift and The Weekend earned seven nominations each.

‘Best New Artist’ contenders are Meghan Trainor, Tori Kelly, James Bay, Sam Hunt and Courtney Barnett.

Jim Greene, father of Ana Marquez-Greene-- a student who was killed inside Sandy Hook Elementary School, has been nominated for two Grammy Awards.

Greene’s album Beautiful Life is among five finalists competing for Best Jazz Instrumental Album of the Year.

The song “When I Come Home” is also nominated for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals.

The album, which was released by the Mack Avenue Record Label, is a celebration of Ana’s life.
