Connecticut's Old State House is hosting a holiday shopping fair for three days this week.
“There is so much to see and do and once people get inside,” Executive Director for Old State House Sally Whipple said. “We find that people end up staying here sometimes for hours."
Shopper Mariella Fiorino said the fair was “Phenomenal.”
“It's nice to have something in Downtown Hartford especially during the Christmas season to see,” Fiorino said. “This is great and the stuff is absolutely beautiful!"
Lisa Merrill with Baubles for Madels said she does not “like mass produced stuff."
"You're buying something that was special to them. They took the time to do it,” Merrill said. “It's special. It's something that somebody created."
The fair is celebrating its third year.
"This is a nice way to come and enjoy the Old State House,” Whipple said. “But also do some holiday shopping and really feel like you're being loyal to Connecticut, a place we all love."
One of the featured spots is Granny's Pie Factory. They have 57 different kinds baked fresh in Connecticut.
"I'm very partial to the pecan pie and the peanut butter cup, too,” Niko Harovas with Granny's Pie Factory said. “If I go for the cream pies, I usually go for the peanut butter cup - and the pecan pie, that's my favorite though."
The fair runs Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
