People in West Hartford received an update Tuesday night on plan to reconfigure a busy exit on Interstate 84.
Town officials said they're looking to move the Park Road exit ramp closer to the on-ramp to make more room for vehicles and improve safety.
The off-ramp will also have an addition left turn lane to increase capacity.
Park Road will also be widened on the south side to create an additional travel lane and left turn lanes.
Pedestrian and bicyclist enhancements on Park Road were also included in the design.
The project is expected to cost $5,100,000 with federal funds covering 80 percent. State and town funds will cover 10 percent each.
Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2017.
More information about the project can be seen on West Hartford's town website here.
