Radio hosts Chaz and AJ collected toys for those less fortunate and WFSB is helping them out.
The hosts are taking their morning show, which is featured on 102.9 The Whale, 99.1 WPLR and 95.9 The FOX, on the road to the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport on Friday morning.
The goal of the show is gather toys and collect money for children who are in need throughout Connecticut.
The annual event raises an average of $100,000 of toys and money for five local charities. Those charities are:
McGivney Center of Bridgeport, Children’s Center of Hamden, Boys and Girls Village of Milford, ConnectiKids of Hartford, and The Center for Human Services in Stratford.
"We live in the richest state in the country, unfortunately for too many kids in Connecticut, life is very difficult. Our hope is that we can make a positive difference for those kids this holiday season," Chaz said in a statement on Thursday.
The event will feature a Brad Whitford from Aerosmith and guitar player Gary Hoey as well as children’s band from a school of rock. Event will be attended by politicians, personalities from WFSB including anchor Kevin Hogan and area comics.
“It truly is quite a show covering all elements of the spectrum from music to politics to comedy and, the biggest of all, helping our community,” Operations Manager Keith Dakin said in a statement on Thursday.
On Friday afternoon, the grand total was $105,415.
