WETHERSFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Someone is stealing Christmas decorations right from front lawns in Wethersfield, and one family is making it know that it happened to them.

Chris McCue’s wife put up a sign this week that says “Hope you Christmas is merry and bright. You stole my 4-year-old’s Christmas lights.”

The family had put up projector lights that would shine colors on their house on Beverly Road, which was something their 4-year-old really loved, so much that he wanted it in his bedroom.

“He thought it was really cool and thought it was a good night light,” McCue said.

The projectors were placed on both sides of the sidewalk, shining on the house, when they were stolen late Tuesday night.

“You have someone stealing something 3 or 4 feet from your front door, it's kind of strange. Not a good feeling,” McCue said.

The family said they just want them to be returned.

“I don't know if it was kid or someone being malicious but it would be nice to get them back,” he added.
