The Hartford Symphony Orchestra could be silenced as early as next month.
This could happen unless the union representing the musicians can come to an agreement with the orchestra’s Board of Directors.
Steve Collins, the symphony's director of Artistic Operations & Administration, confirms that the musicians’ contract expired in June of 2014.
The board is asking for significant concessions in order to make ends meet.
The Hartford Symphony Orchestra is the second largest symphony in New England.
