Parents told Eyewitness News they are upset about a teacher's resignation at Bristol Eastern School while police look into if the man had inappropriate contact with at least one student.
Mike Archangelo was a physical education teacher and a former football coach at Bristol Eastern High School for several years until he stepped down due to the police investigation.
Parents reacted to last week's resignation of Archangelo, saying, "It just floors me to know that a teacher would be doing such a thing," Bristol Eastern Parent Beatrice Davis said.
Sources said Archangelo is being investigated for contact with a student that crossed the line. He is accused of exchanging inappropriate photos and texts.
Parents at Bristol Eastern said they don't know who to trust anymore.
"When you trust them to teach your children and their private life comes out in public, I think it's really sad," Davis said.
Archangelo hasn't been charged, so he's still a free man. But no one answered the door at his home when Eyewitness News stopped by on Monday. A fresh no trespassing sign greets all potential visitors.
"I just sympathize with his wife, because his situation is just out in the open now," Davis said.
His sudden departure is leaving his students with a void.
"I have him for next year and now I don't really know who I'm going to have, so it's a shock," Chaude Thyme, who is a student at Bristol Eastern, said.
Police are still investigating the incident.
