A Louisiana woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police said she damaged property at the Ultra Violet Café using a baseball bat.
Officers were called to the club on Main Street just after midnight after staff reported a woman had brought a bat into the club and begun attacking property.
Police said they arrived they learn the suspect, 28-year-old Shantel Jones, had refused to pay the cover charge and got into an argument with employees. Following the argument, Jones left the club and returned a short time later with a wooden baseball bat.
Jones then proceeded to damage property within the club, including demolishing a cash register. Staff at the club was able to take the bat away from Jones who was then taken into custody by police out in the parking lot.
Police said no one was injured during the incident.
According to police, Jones was up visiting family in Windham for the holiday.
Jones was charged with breach of peace and criminal mischief. She was released on bond and is schedule to appear in court in January.
